Lipi Rastogi, the daughter of IAS officers Radhika and Vikas Rastogi, allegedly died by suicide at 4 a.m. on June 3. According to reports, she jumped from a 10th-floor flat of the government accommodation in Nariman Point, Mumbai. The 27-year-old was rushed to the nearby GT Hospital where doctors declared she was dead on arrival. The police recovered a note from the woman's room, reports said.
Who Was Lipi Rastogi?
According to NDTV, Lipi Rastogi was a law student at a college in Haryana. Her parents are Radhika, Principal Secretary at the Maharashtra Home Department, and Vikas, Principal Secretary of the State's education department.
Reportedly, she was suffering from anxiety over her performance in examinations. While the police found a note in her Mumbai flat, they have yet to ascertain the exact cause behind the 27-year-old's extreme step.
The note reportedly read that no one should be blamed for her death. The Cuffe Parade police have filed an accidental death report and are investigating to ascertain whether there is any foul play.
A police officer told Indian Express, "The suicide note is with the police. Her remains are at the hospital and will be handed over to the family after the postmortem is conducted."
The officer said that the incident occurred at around 4 a.m. on June 3. "The locals informed the family, after which she was rushed to GT Hospital, where she was declared dead before admission."
Lipi Rastogi had experience in the beauty marketing industry before she decided to study law. She had even secured an outstanding rank in the national law school admission test.
Before this, she had pursued a degree in cosmetology, media makeup, and fashion and a Bachelor of Arts degree from some of India's most well-known educational institutes, as mentioned on her LinkedIn account.
