Who Was Lasya Nandita? Telangana MLA Killed In Road Accident

Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) lawmaker Lasya Nandita (37) lost her life in a tragic road accident that took place early morning on February 23 while travelling on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the outskirts of Hyderabad as the politician was returning to the city. 

Reportedly, the politician's father G Sayanna died last year in the same month while Lasya survived two more accidents within a year before succumbing to the road mishap early this morning leaving hundreds in the political landscape shocked by the tragic incident. Lasya had recently secured candidacy in the Telangana assembly. 

Lasya Nandita Telangana MLA Died In Road Accident:

According to the police, the road accident took place around 6:30 in the morning as the driver of Lasya's Sports Utility Vehicle – Maruti XL6 lost control resulting in the vehicle destructively ramming into a metal barrier on the left side of the expressway road. 

Lasya reportedly died on the spot succumbing to the road mishap while the driver in question sustained some serious injuries and was rushed to Patancheru Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

Lasya Nandita Escaped Death Twice:

Just ten days ago, Lasya had survived another road accident on her way to attend a rally of the Chief of BRS and Former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on February 13 when she narrowly dodged death sustaining some minor injuries and losing her home guard in the road accident. 

In December last year, Lasya was also stuck in an elevator which crashed 6 feet down due to overloading but escaped unhurt. However, unfortunately, Lasya could not survive the road accident this morning. 

Who Was Lasya Nandita?

Lasya Nandita was the daughter of a prominent politician and five-time MLA G Sayanna who reportedly died in the same month last year. Lasya was entrusted to take the legacy of her father carrying forward the responsibilities and in November 2023, Lasya secured victory in the candidacy of her party in the Telangana Assembly. 

Lasya born in 1986 in Hyderabad made her foray into politics by stepping into the shoes of her father around a decade ago. The 37-year-old politician was serving as a corporator in Kavadiguda in 2016 before triumphing in victory becoming the MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in 2023 in Telangana Assemblly. 

Lasya secured the seat that was last secured by her late father defeating BJP leader Ganesh N by 17,169 votes to secure her party's place in the assembly and winning the ticket of MLA candidacy in Telangana Assembly.
