Lady Gaga announced this Friday that she'll be using her charitable foundation to fully fund 162 classrooms in Dayton, Ohio; El Paso, Texas; and Gilroy, California, after three deadly mass shootings destroyed the communities in recent weeks. In her letter on Facebook, she wrote, “My heart goes out to those who were taken from us too soon and to their families, loved ones, and communities who are left to grieve. Everyone has the right to laws that make them feel safe in their communities. At this moment, I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and fury into hope. Hope that we are there for each other and for ourselves.”

Hope In Partnering With DonorsChoose.Org
The American singer and songwriter went on to add that she finds hope in the work of DonorsChoose.org. She added, “Today, I find hope in the work of DonorsChoose.org and I’m proud to partner with them and with Born This Way Foundation to fully fund the classroom project needs in Dayton, OH, El Paso, TX, and Gilroy, CA. 14 classrooms in Dayton, 125 classrooms in El Paso, and 23 classrooms in Gilroy will now have access to the support they need to inspire their students to work together and bring their dreams to life. https://www.donorschoose.org/bekind21.”
The USA saw a major mass shooting in the last few days, which left the country mourning for the innocent victims. El Paso, which is considered to be one of the nation's safest cities, saw the mass shooting in its popular shopping area, which killed around 22 and injured other 27. Lady Gaga adds, “Surviving and recovering from these tragedies also means prioritising your mental health and checking in on your loved ones. If you’re struggling, please be brave and tell a trusted someone. Don’t be scared to ask for help, I beg you. If you see a loved one struggling, please be brave and reach out, remind them it’s ok to not be ok and listen to them. We cannot turn away from ourselves. We cannot turn away from our loved ones. We need each other. Don’t turn away. In loving memory of the victims of the tragic shootings in Dayton, OH, El Paso, TX, and Gilroy, CA.”

The Gunman Had Interest In Killing People
The shooter at Dayton, Ohio has been identified as Connor Betts, 24, according to local and federal law enforcement sources. During the probe, the officials found writings that were linked with the gunman and showed that he had an interest in killing people. President Donald Trump tweeted, “God bless the people of El Paso Texas. God bless the people of Dayton, Ohio.”
Lady Gaga's announcement comes a week after a gunman opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso last Saturday, killing 22 people. Less than 24 hours after that shooting, another gunman fired rounds into a crowded place in Dayton, killing nine people. And just days before those shootings, a gunman opened fire into a crowd at a popular garlic festival in Gilroy that left three people dead.
