Kushinagar Minor Girl Gang Raped In Front Of Parents

A dispute over the family issue has led to another gruesome act in a matter of 10 days. Six men allegedly gang-raped a 12 years old girl at Ahirouli Bazaar in Kushinagar in front of her parents. The reason behind the brutal crime was a row between the accused persons and the family of the girl over the construction of a drain. This case has added to the growing crimes against young girls happening across the country.

Police said that the incident happened on Friday evening while a case was registered against the six accused on Sunday morning. Of the six, four accused identified as Veeru Yadav, Niteesh Kumar, Jaiveer Prasad, Mukhtar Prasad, Chandan Prasad, and Gautam Prasad have been arrested. Mukhtar and Niteesh are absconding.

Superintendent of police, Kushinagar, RN Mishra said, “A case has been filed under Section 376 (rape), 147(rioting), 354 (assault with intent to outrage modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506(criminal intimidation), 452 (trespass) of the IPC and POCSO Act against the accused and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the two (remaining), culprits.”

Earlier, the FIR did not mention Section 376 (rape) as it was added when the local media emphasized on the issue.

The police said that Veeru and Niteesh had a fight with the family over the construction of the drain on Friday morning. The fight grew which is why the locals had to step in to calm down both sides. On the same day in the evening Veeru, Niteesh, and the four others barged into the girl’s house and took her away as the family members raised an alarm but were beaten by the suspects. The suspects later raped the girl, the police said.

The family claimed that the police delayed in filing the FIR and hence shielded the suspects. They filed the FIR only when the family met the SP and appealed for justice.

“A case has been filed under Section 376 (rape), 147( rioting), 354 (assault with intention to outrage modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506(criminal intimidation ), 452 (trespass) of the IPC and POCSO Act against the accused and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the two (remaining) culprits.”

The girl was admitted to the district hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition now.

The accused allegedly dragged the girl out of her home and raped her by turn in front of her father and mother who were thrashed when they tried to resist, the mother said in the written complaint she submitted to the Ahirouli Bazaar police station on Saturday evening, TOI reported.

On May 30, two men in Aligarh alleged brutally killed a two years old girl over a money dispute with her family. Aslam and Zahid had loaned a sum of Rs 10,000 to the father of the little girl who was unable to repay. This led the two to abduct the little child, beat her up for hours and then discard her dead body in a garbage pile. This case horrified the nation with the brutality with which the murder was allegedly done. It is becoming a pattern across the country with perpetrators targeting young children and this is becoming a sickening reality.
