During the lockdown when the third year nursing student was trying to make use of her free time after online classes, she thought of drawing caricatures and the several ways to do it. Speaking to IANS, Divya said, "It was then I tried to draw caricatures and soon I got interested in it. When I felt I could draw reasonably well, I thought of using my left hand and soon that became a success. Then I tried with both hands, again I became successful."

EV Divya is a daughter of a driver and has his full support. She has two other members in her family, her mother and a younger sister. In 2020, Divya mastered the art of drawing with both her hands so she decided to take it a step further and tried to draw with her foot. She said, "I tried to re-invent and put a marker pen on my right foot and started to scribble and then soon I realised I could do it. Later on put another marker pen on my left foot and that too turned out well."

She didn't stop here. Last month, she decided to put one marker in her mouth and her drawing came equally good. Since her last discovery, EV Divya has been drawing the same picture using five markers but in different styles, she said.

The first caricature she made with fiver markers was of actor Jaysurya and received his compliments. Expressing her delight on the same, Divya said, "It came out well and I was extremely happy when he responded to me after I shared his picture that I drew. That was a great boost and since then I have drawn others also."

Sharing her technique of drawing, Divya explained, "For me to draw a person, I first draw the picture of him using my right hand. Once I am sure the picture has come out well."

"I use five marker pens. It takes me around four hours to finish one caricature. When I did it first it took me six hours. Now I want to do it in even lesser time," she added.
