Kerala Woman Cracks UPSC : Fulfilling her lifelong dream, Awasthy S, a construction labourer's daughter from Thiruvananthapuram, has cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam 2020 securing the rank 481. She said that it was her dream to clear the UPSC Exam and become a civil servant for the last 15 years. She aims to become an IAS Officer.
According to reports, 545 Men and 216 Women, a total of 761 candidates cleared the test. The UPSC exam, conducted throughout the country annually, selects the country's bureaucrats, police officers and diplomats, along with other civil servants.
Shubham Kumar from Bihar and Jagrati Aswathi have secured the first and the second ranks respectively, in the examination. The results came out on Friday, September 24.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on his visit to the US for holding bilateral talks congratulated the candidates and said that they will further play pivotal roles in India’s administration.

Those who have cleared the exam will go on to have key administrative roles during an important period of our nation’s journey.
He also shared a word of encouragement and consolation for those who did not clear the exam , "To those young friends who did not clear the UPSC examination, I would like to say- you are very talented individuals."
"There are more attempts awaiting. At the same time, India is full of diverse opportunities waiting to be explored. Best wishes in whatever you decide to do."
IAS officer Tina Dabi's sister also sat for the exams of 2020 and cleared it with all India rank 15. The officer shared the news on her social media handle.
