As per reports, a complaint in the case had been filed by the boy's father, who is separated from the accused and lives in the Gulf with another woman he married.
The matter came to light when the teen boy moved abroad to live with his father and revealed incidents of alleged sexual assault during teaching lessons. The father approached the Kadakkavoor police when he made a trip to Kerala in December 2020.
The boy's mother was arrested and two weeks later the Kerala High Court granted her bail, as per Hindustan Times. The court had directed an SIT probe in the case led by a female officer.
The woman's other son, younger, reportedly told authorities that his brother was tutored to accuse their mother and she had been falsely implicated. He further alleged their father was the one who physically assaulted the family. The State Women Commission and the Child Welfare Commission had taken cognisance of the case and criticised the woman's arrest.
