A Kerala-based techie disguised himself as a woman in burqa to enter the ladies' bathroom and plant a hidden camera to record objectionable videos of women. He was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
A 23-year-old techie identified as Abhimanyu was arrested for allegedly entering the women's bathroom wearing a burqa to place a hidden camera and record objectionable videos of women in Kochi's infamous Lulu Mall.

The accused, Abhimanyu, is working with the leading IT firm in InfoPark and is a B.Tech. graduate. The investigating officers inspected the woman's bathroom and found a phone hidden inside a toilet.
He wore a burqa and entered the woman's bathroom. There, he placed a mobile phone in a cardboard box with a hole for the camera lens to record and placed it in the toilet. As per the police, he stuck it to the bathroom door.
After placing the camera inside the toilet, the man stood in front of the main door of the washroom and was found watching something. The strange behaviour was noted by security personnel at the mall, who informed police about her suspicion. As the police arrived at the scene, they found that the man had disguised himself as a woman in a burqa and was recording videos of women.
The police seized the burqa and mobile phone and took the accused into custody. He was then produced at a local court, where he was sentenced to remand for 14 days.
The case is filed at Kalamassery police station, charging the accused man with violating sections 354C (voyeurism), 149 (impersonation), and 66 of the IT Act of the IPC. The police are now investigating if the man has carried out such acts anywhere else before.
