Kerala Bharatanatyam dancer Mansiya VP was recently booked for another show that will be held on the same day as the temple performance she was denied to do when she refused to identify to a specific religion. Raised a Muslim, Mansiya associates herself with no religion because of which her temple performance was cancelled.
Mansiya VP, a Bharatanatyam dancer from Kerala was supposed to perform at the festival being held at the Koodalmanikyam Temple in Thrissur district on April 21, 2022. However, weeks before her performance, she was denied to enter the temple as she was raised as a Muslim and identified herself as an atheist. The temple authorities barred her from performing at the temple saying that it was written in the old norms of the temple that non-Hindus won't be allowed in the temple. The temple disregarded her talent and her rejection was completely on the basis of religion about which she told on her social media. Now, Mansiya has grabbed another Bharatanatyam performance and on the same day as her previous one that was cancelled.
