Kerala Actor Sex Assault Case: Kerala Police crime branch raided the homes of actor Dileep and his brother on Thursday. They also raided the offices of Dileep's production house, Grand Production Company in connection with the case against them for allegedly conspiring to harm the investigation officers in a sexual assault case of an actor from 2017.
The Malayalam actor Dileep is also an accused in the sexual assault case. A fresh case was lodged against him and his brother on Sunday after a purported audio clip got released on a television channel. In the clip, the actor was heard conspiring to attack the investigating officers. Director Balachandra Kumar also gave some corroborative statements against Dileep to the crime branch. He had also made some startling revelations about the actor in the sexual assault of a female actor. He had claimed that there were multiple discussions on a conspiracy to the attack the officers.
PTI reported him saying, "If the matter came up only once, then that might be an emotional outburst. But the same matter was discussed many times at many places which means there was proper planning." In November 2020, Kumar had filed a complaint against Dileep with Chief Minister of Kerala's office. He had alleged the accused in the sexual assault case of 2017, Pulsar Sunni, was seen at actor Dileep's house. He also accused Dileep of watching the video of the sexual assault of the female actor along with a group of others and making attempts to influence the eye witnesses.

The Crime Branch of Kerala is yet to reveal what evidence was retrieved by them or what they were looking for. As per a report by NDTV, the three Crime Branch officials were deployed to carry out raids simultaneously at three locations. As per the visuals of the raids released on television news channels, the officers had to wait at Dileep's house and his office for them to open the gates. The officers were seen climbing over the gate of Dileep's house to get inside. The actor's sister eventually opened the gates. After some delay, the office was also opened for the officers.
Actor Dileep and his brother had moved an anticipatory bail plea in Kerala High Court after which the court asked the police to not take any action against the duo till January 14. Dileep claimed in his plea that the allegations against him are "mockery" and alleged that the complaint against him has been filed by an investigating officer in the sexual assault case as he did not want to be examined during the trial.
Dileep along with five other persons has been booked under several relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code which also includes charges of abetment, concealing design to commit offence, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation.
The survivor in the case, an actor, had also written to the Chief Minister of Kerala asking for justice. After Kumar made fresh allegations against Dileep, she asked sought reinvestigation in the case. She was allegedly kidnapped while she was on the road and then sexually assaulted by the accused persons in 2017.
