Katherine Creag, reporter for the NBC network's New York station WNBC, has passed away at the age of 47. Her untimely death, announced earlier this week, has left the media industry in shock. Creag was a renowned face on morning television with her broadcast Today in New York.
Her channel, remembering her as "a beloved member of the News 4 family," reported that Creag's death was unexpected since she hadn't shown signs of illness and was working on the morning of February 10, before passing away the same evening. The cause of her death isn't yet known.

Katherine Creag had been with her news network for over ten years, prior to which she worked for some time with Fox News. Originally from Manila, she was a New York University graduate credited for her immense contribution to WNBC's award-winning portfolio.
The journalist's Twitter bio reads, "Sleep, what's that?! I go to work when you're coming home from the club." She was an audience favourite for her early morning newscast on Today in New York as a field reporter, appearing at 4:30 am on weekdays. For her reporting, Craig had been recognised through many awards including those by the Associated Press and Emmy's.
Amy Morris, Vice President of WNBC news, said about Creag upon her passing, "For ten years Kat was one of our cornerstones, always willing to help in any situation, whether it was a colleague in need or a shift that needed to be covered... even on the toughest days she was a bright light, quick with a kind word and a smile."
Creag is survived by three children and her husband.
