An elderly woman from Mangaluru is being praised for her quick thinking and presence of mind after she helped avert a train accident.

70-year-old Chandravathi noticed that a tree fell over the track between Padil and Jokatte. She knew that the Matsyaganda Express from Mangaluru to Mumbai would pass that way. Chandravathi rushed home and brought a red cloth so she could wave it at the train driver.

The train driver noticed it and slowed down the train and managed to stop the train before where the tree fell on the track.

The elderly woman was felicitated by the Railway police.

A woman gave birth on a platform at Virangana Lakshimibai railway station in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The pregnant woman and her husband were travelling from Delhi to Damoh when she experienced labour pain.

A fruit juice vendor, Tanveer Mirza saw the couple and took to social media to reach the railway for help. He tweeted the PNR number and within 20 minutes doctors arrived at the spot. The woman delivered a healthy baby boy.

A police team arrested a 21-year-old YouTuber from a village in the Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu on charges of kidnapping a 17-year-old girl.

The YouTubeer kidnapped the girl when she came to school to write an examination and married her.

Woman Sarpanch Vows To Plant 50 Trees For Each Girl Born

Saroj Devi Agrawal, the sarpanch of Bhaleswar in the Naupada district, Andhra Pradesh decided to plant 50 saplings each time a girl is born in her panchayat.
