Karnataka: 2 Students End Lives After Intimate Video Goes Viral

An incident came to light in Davanagere, Karnataka, where two college students, a girl and a boy, allegedly ended their lives over a video of their intimate moment that went viral on social media.

Boy decided to take his life after he received the news of the girl’s death, as per Times of India report. The video clip of 3.21 minutes went viral on social media consisting of their private moments. A few months back, an unidentified individual or maybe a group shot their intimate video without their knowledge when the duo were spending time together on their first-grade government college’s terrace. The duo's families filed separate complaints and an inquiry to find the accused responsible for posting the video. The superintendent of police (SP), Davanagere, K Arun noted that an investigation is underway, as per the reports. 

Another incident of the viral video came to light from Udupi, Karnataka, which caused outrage in the state. The three second-year girl students of a nursing college allegedly recorded another girl from the same institution in the washroom. The girls set up a phone in the washroom of Netra Jyothi Institute of Allied Health Sciences. The police and college authorities initially claimed that the video was a ‘prank’ made for ‘fun’. However, the FIR was registered and the college suspended the accused girls. 

Earlier, a video of the couple's intimate act from Nagpur went viral. The video showed a couple engaging in an intimate act while driving a car. Similarly, In Bihar, a few weeks back, a video went viral in which a minor girl and her teacher were allegedly stripped and thrashed after being caught having an intimate moment. A video showing three persons stripping and assaulting the girl and the man went viral on social media.
