A strong decision
We’ve heard cases where girls attend college after their marriage, but this is one of its kind.
Kavya had decided to write her exam long before the marriage date was fixed. A student of Kalpataru Degree College in KR Pete town, Kavya arrived in the hall in her bridal attire, clad in heavy gold jewellery.
While the marriage was fixed at 11am, the exam was from 9.15 am to 12.30 pm. Kavya wrote the Business tax exam till 10.48 am. She handed over her answer script to the invigilator and rushed back to the marriage hall and got married.
Even though she had taken part in all customary ceremonies the previous night, she kept her calm while writing the exam
Family's support
No one interfered in Kavya decision to write the exam. Even the groom's family had no issues. Kavya has been a 90% scorer in all her previous semester examinations.
In fact, she was applauded for her determination. And her decision to write the exam amid the marriage ceremonies received much appreciation from her relatives and friends.
This case is a reminder of how important is education for all women. Though Kavya decided to get married, she didn’t miss the chance to write her exam even though it was on the same day.
And not like she needed permission for her rights, but her family’s non-interference is also highly appreciable.
We praise Kavya for her sheer grit and determination.
