Prakash has been appearing before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) since last week for questioning. Again on Tuesday, she was called in at the agency's south Mumbai office for another round of questioning.
Prakash had been summoned by the NCB in September along with Padukone, in connection with the drug probe related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death last month. The NCB officials also raided her Versova residence in October and seized drugs. The raid was carried out in Prakash’s absence, who remained “untraceable” for a week.
On 27 October, around 1.7 grams of charas and at least two bottles of cannabis (CBD) oil seized from her house, according to an Indian Express report. However, her lawyer claimed that Prakash had never lived at the house where the raid was conducted.
Karishma Prakash case so far:
In September, Prakash had joined Deepika Padukone at the NCB SIT headquarters where a total of six people had been summoned, including Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor. Padukone and Prakash had been summoned after a news channel broadcasted alleged drug chats from a WhatsApp group the two were a part of.
In the chats, a person denoted as ‘D’, had been allegedly identified to be Padmaavat actress Deepika Padukone, Times Now reported. According to the chats ‘D’ reportedly asked for “maal” and “hash” from another persona called ‘K’, who is allegedly Karishma Prakash, her then manager.
According to an earlier TOI report, both Padukone and her manager had admitted to these WhatsApp chats about procuring drugs. Reportedly, after five hours Padukone had alleged that words like “maal” and “hash” used in the so-called “drug chats” from 2017 were codes for cigarettes. Multiple reports claim that Prakash allegedly “catered to the celebrities.”

According to the NCB, the drug-probe had exposed a new angle in connection with Rajput’s alleged suicide on June 14. The investigation revealed names of A-list celebrities and they have been asked to “join the probe”. However many of them, including Karan Johar, were cleared of all accusations after investigations.
