Karima Baloch's Friends Claim That She Recieved Death Threats

Karima Baloch, a Baloch Activist was found dead in Ontario, Canada. Her friends and fellow activists say that she received death threats.

Activist Karima Baloch's friends claim that she received death threats. The former chairperson of Baloch Student Organisation-Azad (BSO-Azad) spent most of her life standing up for the alleged atrocities committed by the Pakistani Army on the Balochis. Baloch, was found dead in Canada on Tuesday. Her body was found drowned near Toronto’s lakeshore after she went missing earlier this week.

What Karima's Fellow Activists Say

As per ANI, her friend Lateef Johar Baloch revealed that Karima often received anonymous messages which read "We know where you live". There was another message which said that Karima would get an unforgettable 'Christmas gift. ' Lateef added that it was Karima's husband who showed her the messages. She reportedly refuses to believe that her death was just an 'accident.'

However, the Toronto police have ruled out any foul play in the initial investigations, her friends claimed.

Another fellow activist named Hakeem Baloch has been demanding for an intensive probe into this case. He also reportedly confirmed the speculation around Karima getting numerous threats. He said that Karima was a brave woman who would never die by suicide. Hakeem said that Karima was an inspirational figure for Baloch women and made numerous sacrifices for the cause.

Karima, was one of the many activists who was being harassed on social media. According to Hakeem, the United Nations and Human Rights bodies like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch should take up such matters. He also wants media organisations to spread the message about the atrocities faced by the people of Balochistan.

Sajid Hussain is another Baloch activist who died in Sweden. Baloch activists reportedly believe that in both these cases, the victims were murdered. Karima Baloch had been living in Canada since 2016 after she was accused of igniting terrorism by Pakistan. She was in the BBC's list of 'Inspirational Women' in 2016.
