Neha Jangra, a national-level karate champion, apparently gave it back to a Haryana traffic policeman when he tried to sexually harass her on April 5. Consequently, the constable was charged with sexual harassment and placed under suspension, Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain confirmed to TOI.
The Haryana girl represented the state at the 10th National Level Open Karate Championship 2017, held in Margao, Goa. The 21-year-old bagged a gold medal at the event in December.

The incident
Around 7 pm, Neha was on her way back home after attending classes at the Karate Academy. The accused, constable Yaseen, sat in the shared auto-rickshaw that she had taken. Soon after, he started harassing Neha as she was the only other passenger.
Neha recounted her ordeal;
“Instead of being wary of his position as a policeman, he immediately asked me for my phone number. When I refused, he targeted me and said he was asking for friendship only and there was nothing wrong. This infuriated me and I thrashed him twice and pushed him to the corner of the auto so that he couldn’t escape."
Her father, Suresh Jangra, who is a construction worker, rushed to the police station immediately. But the woman SHO tried convincing them that the cop’s career and married life would be spoiled if an FIR was registered.
