Former Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa has filed a complaint with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) against Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, and others who were present at filmmaker Karan Johar's house party in October 2019. Calling it a "drug party", Sirsa has demanded an investigation basis an old video shared by Johar on Instagram, that went viral last year. Sirsa's complaint comes at a time when the NCB has arrested Rhea Chakraborty and is further probing into an alleged drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

Stars At Karan Johar's Party Accused Of "Drug Abuse"

This is not the first time that Sirsa has pointed out his grievances against the party hosted by filmmaker Johar. When the video first surfaced last year, many, including Sirsa, had made claims that the stars at the party seemed to be in a "drugged state." The attendees of the party were from the film industry, with the likes of Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan caught on camera.

Sirsa shared the video, raising his voice against the alleged "drug abuse" by these stars:

Karan Johar had expressly rubbished these rumours. He said, "I took that video with all the earnestness... would I be putting out that video if there was anything happening at all, I am not stupid... My mother, 5 minutes before this video, was sitting with us. It was that kind of a family, happy, social gathering."

Several people had apparently also mistaken the light seen near Kaushal in the video to be proof of drugs. On this, Johar countered, "Apparently you are not allowed to scratch your nose. Apparently, you are not allowed to put your phone in your back pocket. Apparently, a shadow of light is perceived to be some kind of powder."
