A seven-year-old girl was found dead in Ghatampur area in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning. She was allegedly sexually assaulted by two men, before being murdered and her liver gouged out. She went missing on the night of Diwali.
The liver was taken for treating a childless couple
According to police, a childless couple from the girl's village believed that if the wife ate the liver of the girl, as per some black magic rituals, she would be blessed with a baby. The childless couple had been married since 1999. The couple reportedly paid some money to the two accused for kidnapping the girl and bringing her liver to them so that the occult rituals could be performed.

The two men, namely Ankul (20) and Beeran (31) kidnapped the girl on Saturday night. The drunken men reportedly sexually assaulted the six-year-old and later killed her. They further gouged out her liver and handed it over to the key conspirator, identified as Parshuram Kuril for the black magic rituals.
The two accused raped the girl and strangled her when she resisted
Reports said that shock and haemorrhage due to ante mortem injuries was the cause of death. "Several teams were deployed to crack the case. The girl's neighbours, Ankul and Beeran, were picked up based on suspicion. On questioning, they confessed. They said a man called Parshuram, who is the uncle of Ankur, paid them some money to do this," senior police officer Brajesh Srivastava said.

The body has been sent for post mortem examination to explore if the girl was murdered in any black magic art. The two accused were arrested on Sunday. Parshuram Kuril was also arrested on Monday following intensive interrogation by police. The woman has also taken into custody as she knew about the incident.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and grief over the incident and announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the deceased’s kin. He directed the concerned authorities to take strict actions against the accused and ensured hearing of the case would take place in a fast track court.
