Kannada Television Actor Soujanya Dies By Suicide In Bengaluru Home

Soujanya suicide note mentions she was undergoing mental health issues and she blames no other person for her death.

Soujanya suicide case: Television actor Soujanya, popular in the Kannada television industry, died by suicide at her home in Bengaluru, Karnataka, reports said Thursday. Her body was found hanging in her room alongside a four-page note that claims she was suffering from mental health issues.

Police reportedly confirmed her identification through a tattoo on her body. Investigations in the case are underway.

According to Times of Indiainitial reports claimed police had to force their way into Soujanya's Kumbalgodu residence. They are probing whether or not the late actor was facing other troubles in life. People close to her are reportedly being questioned. The note purportedly written by her mentions that Soujanya blames no one for her death.

She had credits on both the small and silver screens to her name. Chaukattu Fun and Nanobbne Olleyavnu were films she was part of. She was 25 years old.

Soujanya hailed from Kushalanagar and was an up and coming name in the Kannada entertainment industry. She had moved to Bengaluru for work, according to PTI.

As per reports, her remains were sent to Rajarajeshwari Medical College in Kambipura and examinations will reveal further details.

The suicide note found near Soujanya's body is dated September 27, 28 and 29, and is addressed to her family. "I am really so sorry for doing this... I am not able to take it anymore," it reads, as shared by News18 KannadaThe letter further claims Soujanya's mental state was "not good" so she "felt better to do this." There are apologies, several times over, to the actor's parents in the note. It is written partly in English and partly in Kannada.

"I am the only one responsible for this... Sorry everyone for everything I had promised I'll never do such stupid thing in my life. But I had no option. I was total killed inside. Day by day I was going so low... My humble request... do good to everyone but never expect it back."

Her death by suicide follows that of actor Jayashree Ramaiah, who passed away this year in January. Famous as a contestant on the third season of Bigg Boss Kannada, Ramaiah ended her life at a rehab home in Bengaluru. Prior to her death, she revealed she was battling depression.
