Kangana Ranaut Jayalalitha Memorial: She recently paid a visit to J Jayalalithaa Memorial in Chennai to seek blessings for her film Thalaivii which is slated to release on September 10. She along with her team has kickstarted promotions of her film in South India. Kangana Ranaut will be essaying the role of Jayalalithaa in the movie.

She was spotted wearing a traditional South Indian silk saree. She even shared her picture on social media before her visit to the memorials to pay her respects to the legendary actor and politician Here's the Instagram post.

The movie is based on the life of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalalithaa who was also a legendary actor. The film revolves around her struggles in the entertainment industry and how she rose to stardom. It also depicts her journey as one of the most dynamic politicians of the country.
The movie is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R. Singh, co-produced by Hitesh Thakkar and Thirumal Reddy and has been directed by AL Vijay. Arvind Swami is playing the role of AIADMK leader MGR.
It is all set to release in theatres on September 10, 2021. The film’s release date was earlier set to be April 23 but the second wave of coronavirus delayed it.
Besides Thalaivii, she is also engaged in several projects such as Dhaakad, Tejas, Manikarna 2 among many.
In an interview, Ranaut revealed that she had to gain 20 kgs for the movie and do Bharatanatyam. her back was severely damaged but she was satisfied as she got to play the role to perfection. Read more about her transformation here.
