Kangana Ranaut contempt petition: Writer Ashish Kaul had accused actor Kangana Ranaut of copyright infringement a few months ago. In the latest development, he has filed a contempt petition against Kangana in the Bombay High Court.
Adnan Shaikh and Yogita Joshi, Advocates of Ashish Kaul in this matter said, "We gave a letter to Javed Akhtar and from his reply it was found that the facts given by Kangana during the passport application are wrong and it is a serious crime. We will present this matter in the High Court and if this fraud is proved in the court, then its result will definitely come out."
It was for the film 'Manikarnika Returns The Legend Of Didda' that Ashish Kaul had filed a copyright infringement case against Kangana Ranaut. This was after Kangana hade made the announcement that she would make this film. Ashish Kaul has written the book. The matter has now reached Bombay High Court. Kaul will oppose any relief provided to Kangana in the copyright matter, as per reports.
Kangana and her brother Akshat Ranot have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. The objective is to quash the FIR against them in this case.
Javed Akhtar and Kangana Ranaut has also been fighting a defamation case since last year. Akhtar has alleged that the Ranaut had made derogatory comments against him in a television interview. In another case, she tried to speed up her passport renewal procedure by telling the Passport Authority’s counsel that no criminal case was pending against her in any court.
