Kanchipuram gangrape: A horrific incident has come to light from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu where a young woman was allegedly gangraped after being lured on the pretext of a job offer. As per reports on Saturday, all four men accused of sexual assault have been arrested.
The woman, aged 20, worked in a mobile shop and befriended one of the accused online, according to a report by Times Now. Identified as Gunaseelan, he had proposed the offer of getting her a job change, supposedly in a private company. The accused drove her to a farmhouse earlier this week where, on the way, the crime occurred.

As per reports quoting police, the woman was offered a drink laced with drugs on the way to the farmhouse. She lost consciousness following which Gunaseelan and three of his friends, who were then called to the location, allegedly raped her inside the vehicle.

When she regained consciousness, the 20-year-old woman attempted to raise the alarm. Reports suggest she tried to break the window of the vehicle and scream. Locals nearby heard the commotion and rushed to the spot but the accused reportedly fled.
The woman was found dumped on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway. She is currently in hospital seeking treatment and, according to Aaj Tak, the Kanchipuram police have formed a special team to take action in the case. All accused have reportedly been arrested.
Certain reports mention a fifth accused who was also caught.
