Kamala Harris COVID-19 crisis In India: President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have assured support to India, they expressed solidarity and ensured all assistance. Biden took to Twitter and said that the United States is "determined to help India in its time of need".
Posting a statement from National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Biden said in a tweet that just as India had sent assistance to the United States when the hospitals were "strained early in the pandemic", he and his team will now provide the raw material required for the Covishield vaccine to India amid an unprecedented surge.

"The U.S. is working closely with the Indian government to rapidly deploy additional support and supplies during an alarming COVID-19 outbreak. As we provide assistance, we pray for the people of India—including its courageous healthcare workers," Harris tweeted earlier on Sunday.

On Saturday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken had said the US would “rapidly” deploy “additional support” to India as the government presently has a shortage of oxygen, ventilators and medicines across the country.

It was also reported that over three hundred oxygen concentrators have been dispatched on Sunday morning from New York to India. Extending support, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman tweeted: “The American people stand in solidarity with our friends in India during these difficult times. We are rapidly providing therapeutics, ventilators, PPE, raw material for vaccines, and more."

Google CEO Sundar Pichai will also be providing funding of ₹135 crores for medical supplies and to help communities in general. He tweeted on Monday, "Devastated to see the worsening Covid crisis in India. Google & Googlers are providing ₹135 Crore in funding to @GiveIndia, @UNICEF for medical supplies, orgs supporting high-risk communities, and grants to help spread critical information."
