"He was just like why do you want to get married, you’re so young and your career is doing so well," said the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge actress, who is currently spending time with her daughter Nysa in Singapore. "Ajay and I were very different people, so lots of people had reservations as to what we would be like as a couple and we were not very social even then. Not a lot of people had met us together or knew what we were like together," she added.

“We have survived because both of us have worked through it together and we have two kids," she said.

Earlier, talking about dealing with miscarriages, Kajol told Humans Of Bombay that she was pregnant during Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, released in 2001, but she miscarried. "I was in the hospital that day the film had done so well, but it wasn’t a happy time." She revealed she had another miscarriage after that and "it was tough."

"But eventually it worked out we had Nysa & Yug & our family’s complete. We’ve been through so much we’ve formed our own company, Ajay’s on his 100th film & every day we’re building something new," she said.
