Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Trial
- According to ABC News, Depp is suing Heard for calumny seeking a US50 million dollar ($70 million) settlement. Heard is counter-suing him for $US100 million ($140 million).
- Starting in April, in the trial, Depp had testified that he never hit Heard or any other woman. He alleged she was the one who abused him.
- Their 2015 fight began in Australia where Depp was filming the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Depp alleged that Heard threw a vodka bottle which severed the top of his finger. He said he used the blood from his injury to write on the wall. However, Heard denied injuring Depp, telling the jury that Depp had sexually assaulted her that night.
- She showed the court photos of her scars, which were visible on her arm. She also had swelling around her eyes. The court also saw images around the same time where no injuries were present. Heard, however, denied the allegation of editing the photos and fabricating bruises.

- Depp attested that Heard defecated in his bed, telling their security guard that it was a “horrible practical joke gone wrong.” Heard denied the allegation and suggested that their dog was only responsible for it, with no involvement of hers.
- The court played audio recordings in which Heard admitted that she hit him but did not throw a punch at him. The court also showed text messages in which Depp had called her a “filthy whore,” whom he wanted “dead.”
- Depp had hired a clinical forensic psychologist who alleged that Heard had a history of borderline personality disorders. However, another report determined that she had PTSD resulting from an “intimate partner violence” that Depp had inflicted upon her.
- According to Depp’s allegations, he lost profitable movie roles because of her allegations, but witnesses claimed that Depp’s career was already on a steady decline before Heard had spoken about sexual assault in her Washington Post article.
- A psychiatrist and witness for Heard said that Depp was a consistent narcissist.
- According to a CNN report, on May 27, for six weeks, jurors heard over 100 hours of testimony from witnesses who often gave contradicting viewpoints of the past couple's private life — from movie deals to accounts of violent squabble — either in person, remotely, or through recorded attestations that were edited down.
- The jury will recommence their deliberations on Tuesday. However, there is no prefixed timeframe for the verdict. It could take a few more days.
