Kajal's Wedding Day Turns Into a Tragic Tale

Kajal and her family had come to Jhansi for her upcoming wedding and she was at a salon with her sister when a man barged inside and shot Kajal multiple times. The suspected man was caught on CCTV camera and was also seen wearing a black handkerchief wrapped around his face. He fled from the salon right after the shooting. This man is assumed to be Kajal's ex-boyfriend based on what the witnesses had to say.

The bride's sister Neha was one of the key eye witnesses and said, "My sister was getting ready. He came and asked her to come with him. When my sister refused, he broke the door and shot her. His name is Deepak and he is from our village. It was my sister's wedding today. She had gone to the beauty parlour to get ready. He carried a backpack and had a handkerchief tied around his face. He asked my sister to come with her. He also asked her why she betrayed him."

The bride was accompanied by 3 other women and one of the other key eyewitnesses was the owner of the salon, Janhvi Jha, who described the tragic turn of events. She mentioned, "The woman lives in Datia. She came here for her make-up. I came here at 6:30 pm. The make-up was in its final stage. Just then a man came in with his face covered and said 'Kajal, please come out'. The bride refused and bolted the door. He broke the glass door and forced his way in and shot at her and ran away."

Following the incident, the police were alerted and Kajal was rushed to Jhansi Medical College in a serious condition where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Based on a complaint, the Jhansi Police registered an FIR in the case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

According to SSP Jhansi, S Rajesh, the woman and the accused were from the same village in Madhya Pradesh's Datia district and already knew each other.

"The girl was originally a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Datia... The accused followed the woman to Jhansi and then conducted the incident... We have already rushed two teams to Datia for the arrest of the accused. We are also raiding the homes of the relatives of the accused... Strict action will be taken against the accused," Rajesh said while speaking to the media in connection with the matter.

The incident has once again proved that men do not handle rejection well and have continuously taken the answer 'no' as harm being inflicted on their masculinity. It is time that as a society we start teaching young boys to not only respect women but also listen to them. We need more men to know that no means no., it doesn't mean yes, it doesn't mean maybe, it means no.
