The condition of government schools in India has always been a topic of concern as there are still improvements that can be done. A video is going viral on the internet in which a young girl can be seen addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pointing out the lack of facilities in her school and the problems of the students.
The education system in India is still under progress and administrations still need to work on things to encourage people to send their children to school. One common thing because of which people don't send their children to school is the poor infrastructure and the fear of their child getting hurt.
A similarly poorly constructed school from Jammu and Kashmir is grabbing the attention of the internet after a little girl posted a tour of the school, requesting PM Modi to help them build it properly. The video showed the condition of the classrooms and washrooms as the little student narrated what her and her friends go through everyday in school.

Jammu Kashmir Girl Request To PM Modi
In the video, the little girl greets PM Modi and introduces herself as Seerat Naaz, a student of Government High School in Lohai-Malhar village of Kathua. She gives a tour of her school's building, the new building which has been under construction for the past 5 years and makes a video of all the floors of the building as she talks about how the students have to sit on the dirty floor to study as they have no benches.
She says that their dress gets dirty by sitting on the floor and their mothers scolding them. She also shows the washroom of the school in the video which is in poor condition and says that children have to go in the open to pee or defecate.
The little girl in two pigtails had only one simple request from the Prime Minister of India which she repeated multiple times in the video. She requested him to construct a good school, to improve the condition of her school and make it beautiful so that the students don't have to sit on the floor, don't have to go to the toilet in the open, and can study diligently. The now-viral video is an example that there are still regions in India where people have to request and ask for basic amenities.
Education is every child's birthright and providing facilities for proper education is our duty as a society and administration. Seeing that a little child has to make a video and ask for proper educational facilities is a sad reality. We hope that the video reaches the concerned authorities and that action is taken to improve the conditions of not just Seerat's school but also every local government school in India.
