james michael tyler tributes: Actor James Michael Tyler who essayed the character of coffee shop manager Gunther on the hit sitcom FRIENDS passed away on 25 October at his home in Los Angeles. He succumbed to prostate cancer. He was 59-years-old. He appeared in 150 episodes across all 10 seasons of the sitcom.
His co-stars have taken to social media to pay their condolences. Jennifer Aniston shared a scene on Instagram featuring Rachel and Gunther. Sharing the post, she wrote, “Friends would not have been the same without you. Thank you for the laughter you brought to the show and to all of our lives. You will be so missed #JamesMichaelTyler 💔"
Matt LeBlanc who played Joey in the show shared a picture of both their characters interacting and wrote, “We had a lot of laughs buddy. You will be missed. RIP my friend."
