Extortion Case: ED Attaches Assets Of Jacqueline Fernandez Over Seven Crore Rupees

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been making headlines for a while because of the extortion case against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 7.27 crore of the actor in the case. These assets include a fixed deposit worth Rs 7.12 crore under Jacqueline Fernandez.

Earlier the agency had estimated that Sukesh Chandrasekhar gave five rupees worth of gifts to Fernandez and the money he used for the gifts was allegedly extorted from different people. Chandrasekhar allegedly gave funds of over 27,000 Australian dollars and 1,73,000 in US dollars to Jacqueline Fernandez's family members.

Jacqueline Fernandez Assets Attached By ED

The alleged conman is accused in a five-year-old extortion case which also involves politician TTV Dhinakaran. Chandrasekhar was place under arrest by the ED on April 4 in the same case. He was arrested last year as well when he allegedly extorting Rs 215 crore from a businessman's wife. Chandrasekhar allegedly pretended to be an official from the Home Ministry and Law Ministry. Jacqueline Fernandez's name came in the case when she was summoned by the agency for questioning in the case against Chandrasekhar.

Chandrasekhar's lawyer had claimed in front of the media that the actor was in a relationship with him but Fernandez denied the claims. Later, her intimate pictures with Chandrasekhar went viral on social media one after the other. The actor then posted a statement on her social media account asking people to respect her privacy in her dark moments. The alleged conman had also reportedly issued a letter to the media organisations asking them to not cross boundaries and respect Fernandez's privacy. In the letter as well, he had confirmed that he was in a relationshio with the actor.

Sukesh Chandrasekhar reportedly promised Fernandez that he will produce a movie in which he will cast her in lead role. He also used to meet her when he was got on bail in private jets and hotels, as the ED. The viral pictures of the duo has shown them comfortable with each other in a hotel room. According to the agency, Chandrasekhar also gave a Persian cat and several other expensive gifts during the time they were allegedly dating each other.
