Author J K Rowling is an avid feminist. She often speaks up against misogyny on social media and isn’t afraid to have strong opinions. Her latest tweets are about men who can’t disagree with a woman without insulting them.
“Just unfollowed a a man whom I thought was smart and funny, because he called Theresa May a whore. 1/14," she tweeted, in a first of 14 tweets.

"I’m sick of ‘liberal’ men whose mask slips every time a woman displeases them, who reach immediately for crude and humiliating words 3/14," she said.
"When you do this, Mr Liberal Cool Guy, you ally yourself, wittingly or not, with the men who send women violent pornographic images," was another one of her tweets.
"If your immediate response to a woman who displeases you is to call her a synonym for her vulva, or compare her to a prostitute, then drop the pretence and own it: you’re not a liberal. You’re a few short steps away from some guy hiding behind a cartoon frog," Just unfollowed a man whom I thought was smart and funny, because he called Theresa May a whore. 1/14
Yesterday (June 9), the UK’s election results saw May’s Conservative party lose its majority. So May has made an alliance with the controversial far-right Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland, and that has spurred criticism.
People are loving her feminist rant!
What a feisty attack by @jk_rowling on how even "liberal" men reach for foul insults when a woman displeases them or has opinions! SO true!

My God @jk_rowling's series of tweets on "liberal" men and misogynistic abuse needs its own Netflix series
