Italian Woman Makes Grandma's 20YO Dream Of Wearing Saree Come True

Grandmoms. The word itself has emotions bubbling inside us. The bond with grandmothers is unique not just because of the huge generation gap but also because of the love they have for their grandchildren. We not only love helping our grandmothers know about the weird trends of the new generations but also bring smiles that they missed for years. Doing a similar gesture, an Italian influencer made her grandma's 20-year-old dream come true. What was her dream? To wear a saree.

The video of the woman helping her grandmother drape a saree was shared a few days ago from the Instagram id @ollyesse. And the netizens are not over it. The video has garnered more than 10k likes and 100k viewers. Netizens are showering their appreciation and overwhelming emotions that have truly melted their hearts.

The saree dream

The video opens with the influencer getting her nonna some fashion treatment. Someone is seen spraying her hair while the nonna has her eyes closed. Then, with "Saree haul with my grandma", the influencer begins draping a saree. She drapes Nauvari Saree with sidha palla. The ecstacy visible on the grandma's face takes her 20 years back when she visited India. As the influencer drapes the saree, the grandma narrates her visit to India and how fascinated she was with Indian culture, especially wearing a saree. She further admits that she never asked anyone to drape a saree for her because she felt shy. 

Towards the end of the video, the grandma is fully draped in Indian style saree on top of a t-shirt and trousers. She also sways with the saree on. 

The influencer's heartwarming caption

The influencer shared the reel with a long heartwarming caption. She wrote, "The story of my nonna and India started 20 years ago when she decided to come to Mumbai for vacations with her family. She told me, that everyone was looking so amazing, especially since she loved the television series, Sandokan, and she used to adore the Indian wear, as she was a High Fashion tailor herself."

She further adds, "She spent one month in India, she bought fabric and she enjoyed the culture, but she was too shy to ask anyone to pleat her saree... And she really wanted to do it."

The influencer was overwhelmed by her grandma's story. She decided to fulfil her long-standing wish. She wrote, "Today is the day I will make your dream come true." 

She ends with an emotional tone writing, "I took out my saree, and we had so much fun pleating it. She looked amazing! And I enjoyed it as well because she deserves the whole world."
