ISSF World Cup India: Indian women's team, of Shreya Saksena, Anjum Moudgil and Gaayathri Nithyanandam, on Thursday (March 25), has won the silver medal in the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team event at the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup 2021 in Delhi.
India lost the event to Poland in the final, however, they got the country's sixth silver medal at the world cup.
The Indian team lost to Stankiewicz Aneta, Szutko Aleksandra and Kochanska Natalia of Poland in the final. Saksena, Moudgil and Nithyanandam have shot a combined 43 in the gold medal showdown to finish behind the Polish team, which scored 47 to grab the top spot. Earlier, India had scored 1304 and 864 in the first and second qualifying rounds.

Anjum Moudgil
The World Championship silver medallist Anjum is the first to win an Olympic quota for shooting for Tokyo Olympics. A sub-inspector in the Punjab Police, Moudgil has a background in sports psychology and is currently the World No. 4 in women’s 10M air-rifle.
Shreya Saksena
Saksena hails from Greater Noida. She bagged seven medals in both senior and junior category at the 61st National Shooting Championship in 2017. Same year, she also bagged five gold medals and three silver medals at the championship in two separate events of rifle shooting- 50 metres prone (women) and 50 metres three positions (women). Saksena broke the national record in the category of 50 metres 3 positions women seniors (national and civilian) and 50 metres prone women junior (civilian).
Gaayathri Nithyanandam
Nithyanandam, who is eyeing the Tokyo Olympics, is from Coimbatore and looked solid after securing a double gold in the South Asian Games in Nepal last December.
On Wednesday, Chinki Yadav clinched gold as India claimed all three medals in the women's 25m pistol event. This week, the Indian women’s team comprising Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Shri Nivetha Paramanantham secured the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol events.
Indian shooters have so far won 20 medals in the competition. Leading the medal tally, India has also pocketed six silver medals and five bronze beside the nine gold medal victories.
