In a new turn of events, IPS officer Purushottam Sharma's daughter claimed that her mother is suffering from "psychiatric issues", and she "orchestrated" the whole "drama". A few days ago a video of the officer beating is his wife went viral on social media, following which he was suspended.
On Tuesday evening, Purushottam Sharma shared with media a letter written by his daughter. "It is not a case of a woman facing harassment but of a man being harassed," Sharma said. Moreover, the officer said he had attached the letter to his reply to the show-cause notice. In the letter addressed to the chief minister, home minister, and DGP, the IPS officer's daughter claimed that her mother is suffering from a "chronic psychiatric disorder," Times Now reported.
News Anchor's Complaint
Earlier, news anchor of a regional TV channel in Bhopal filed a complaint against Sharma's son and wife. The anchor registered her complaint at the Shahpura police station, and claimed that the IPS officer is "like a father" to her and calls her 'beta'. Shahpura police station in-charge Jitendra Patel told news agency Press Trust of India, "The complaint states that her privacy and image has suffered a lot in the society and caused disrepute to her name."

The news anchor further stated, "As I am associated with journalism, I keep meeting officials and politicians quite often." She has demanded that the police take appropriate action in the matter and protect her from undergoing "mental torture."
What does the complain say?
"On Sunday (September 27), DG Purushottam Sharma called me around 7 pm, saying he is near my place (residence), so I invited him over for a cup of tea," the news anchor has revealed, adding that after some time Sharma's wife reached her flat as well. "I don't know her but I opened the door out of courtesy, after which she forcibly entered the flat," she alleged."Mr Sharma and his wife had a fight, after which the IPS officer went out of the house," she further said.
According to NDTV, the anchor said that Sharma's wife stayed back and asked her "unnecessary questions" and she also made video recording of her bedroom, which was made viral on social media by his son.
In the complaint, she said, "I never realised that his coming to my home for a cup of tea will become such a big issue. It has tarnished my image and compromised my privacy."
Action Against Purushottam Sharma
A day after the news anchor's complaint against his wife and son, Sharma was suspended from his current post. "He has been suspended from the post of special director general with immediate effect," Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Dr Rajesh Rajora told PTI.
