IPS Officer's 19YO Daughter Found Dead In Hostel Room: Cardiac Arrest Suspected?

The 19-year-old student was studying law at Ram Manohar Lohia Law University in Lucknow. Her demise was announced by a local Hospital in a public statement.

A 19-year-old girl was found dead in her hostel room in Lucknow. She was identified as Ankita Rastogi, the daughter of an IPS officer from the 1998 batch. Ankita was discovered unconscious in her hostel room and rushed to the hospital.

Who was Ankita Rastogi?

Ankita Rastogi was in her third year, pursuing her degree from Ram Manohar Law University in Lucknow. She resided in the hostel built inside the college campus. She was a student of Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) at the institute. The initial suspicion behind the cause of her death points towards a cardiac arrest

Where and how was her body discovered?

Ankita stopped replying to any calls or messages from her friends and family after she returned to her room the previous night. Her friends even knocked on her door a few times but received no response.

Overcome by worry and panic, they decided to crack open her door and found her lying on the floor; dead. They immediately rushed her to the hospital but she was declared brought dead. 

As per the NDTV report, the doctors at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital declared her dead and suspected cardiac arrest's role in her death. The post-mortem report is still awaited.

Do we suspect foul play?

According to the reports, Ankita had no bruises or blood on her body anywhere. Her face looked so peaceful that one could even mistake her for sleeping. It showed no signs of being under attack. The police also confirmed that her hostel room door was locked from inside. 

Daughter to an IPS officer

Ankita Rastogi was the daughter of Santosh Rastogi, a 1998 batch IPS Officer of Maharashtra Cadre. He is currently serving as the Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Delhi. He has not made any public statements regarding the untimely demise of her daughter. The family has also not filed any official complaint with the police.
