Light in Arabic means Noor, and despite her namesake electricity remained a distant dream for 70-year-old Noor Jahan of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh until an IPS officer assisted her.
Anukriti Sharma, an IPS officer from the UP cadre class of the 2020 batch, recently posted a touching video of the moment when they ensured bringing electricity to the elderly woman's home.
The video acutely captures the happiness of Noor Jahan when she realised electricity has now entered the woman's modest home. It also shows a bulb lightening up and also sees her face brightened up. The police officers that were at her house were very cheerful. They demonstrated how to use a fan by plugging it into a socket while also turning it on for her. Noor Jahan gave the IPS agent a bear hug.
