Horror: Two-Month-Old Baby Girl Found Dead In Microwave Oven In Delhi

In a horrific incident, a two-month-old baby was found dead in a microwave oven in the Chirag Dilli area of south Delhi. The body of the deceased baby was found yesterday by the police, who, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker, were informed about the baby's death at around 3:15 PM.

The investigating team is trying to decipher all plausible angles to the murder. To news media, Jaiker informed the updates in the case. She said that the parents of the infant--Gulshan Kaushik and Dimple Kaushik are being interrogated at the police station, while the case is still being investigated from all fronts.

The police have registered a case of murder against unknown persons. Although talking about the preliminary investigation, NDTV reported that the initial investigation indicates the mother of the deceased infant as the suspect. They also alleged that she was upset over the birth of a daughter.

Infant Found Dead In Microwave

The deceased baby's name was Ananya and she was reportedly born in January this year. Since then, allegedly the mother was upset and had fights with her husband over the birth of a girl. The couple already has a four-year-old son.

The information of the baby's death was reportedly given to the police by a neighbour of the family. While giving this information, the neighbour told the police that Dimple had allegedly locked herself in the house, post which the mother-in-law raised an alarm.

The neighbour said that after they broke the glass and entered the room, they found the mother lying unconscious with the son, while the baby was missing. The mother-in-law along with some other people looked around the house and allegedly found the baby inside a microwave oven, which was in a room on the second floor of their house.

The police said that when the incident had taken place, the father of the baby was at the departmental store he runs. Talking to the news media, the grandfather of the baby alleged that he was sleeping downstairs when he heard noises and was told that the baby is missing. They searched everywhere and after some time, a few boys went to the terrace and opened a room there. The grandfather alleges that the baby was found in an old oven and she was dead. "We think her mother killed her as she was the only one at home. She was unhappy with the baby..." he said.
