Now an Instagram account reportedly believed to be Mukerjea’s shared a post about her struggles in prison and how women inmates revealed the "true essence" of support and camaraderie.

Further, the Instagram post narrated that she stayed up last night and kept thinking about the corridors of the Byculla Undertrial Prison. She shared that her heart was filled with empathy for the innocent women who were held captive. She explained how suffocating it would be to be imprisoned and incarcerated for something that you’ve not done. She wrote that she would never wish that upon anyone. She added that it was undeniable that she found inner peace in her darkest days.

She went on to share about the women in Byculla prison, who, she said, had no hospitality or spite against each other. She said that while in the outside world, women would often mask their true emotions, "women in the secluded realm danced with genuine joy for one another."

Mukerjea wrote that she witnessed the true embodiment of camaraderie and sisterhood unfold before her eyes. She added that the women in the prison had unwavering support for each other. She also said that in the desolation of prison life, she found a solid truth – that there is an unbreakable bond that unites women, and they have the unmatchable calibre to "uplift and fortify" one another.

Indrani Mukerjea has been seeking a speedy trial in the murder case of her daughter, Sheena Bora. She claimed the delay in conducting the trial deprived her of her fundamental rights, such as working in the country of her nationality (England), staying in her residence, and travelling freely outside India.

Sheena Bora was Indrani Mukerjea’s daughter from her previous relationship. Bora was reportedly killed in April 2012, but the case came to light three years later after the arrest of Shyamvar Rai, Indrani Mukerjea’s former driver, who was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon. It has been alleged that Mukerjea and her husband, Peter Mukerjea, killed Sheena Bora by strangulating her with the help of Mukerjea’s former husband, Sanjeev Khanna. The body was buried but was only identified following Rai’s confession, leading to the arrest of all three accused, who are currently out on bail.
