While in the second period, India opened the score board, leading the team with a 1-0 advantage. The nail-biting last period gave both the teams a hard time where each team scored 3 goals. But India was already leading with 1 goal from the second period, winning the match by winning 4-3.

While the Indians were looking for counter opportunities from the very beginning, the Philippines failed to stand against their hard-fought mechanism. It’s the perfect vengeance after losing its first match against UAE 4-6 on Tuesday.
However, the team’s biggest concern is now to raise funds to get proper equipment and facilities and to sustain in the race. The team members are chipping in to participate in more such international tournaments. Last year, they lost in the Asia Cup in Taiwan, but were happy to participate on a professional rink for the first time.
Recently, 3000 donors contributed in a crowdfunding campaign for training, accommodation, airfares, visa, team jersey, and equipment. Sheer determination led these women till here -- 28 women were selected for the team, a few are from Ladakh – and now with the fundraising campaign, they seem to have tackled the funds crunch a bit. With the collected funds, they finally managed to compete in the event.
