The Indian Women’s Hockey team achieved a remarkable victory over Japan in the finals of Olympic Test Event held on Wednesday at Oi Hockey Stadium. The match was indeed a nail-biting fight and ended up with India’s win of 2-1 over Japan. Describing the score of Lairemsiami, Hockey India writes, “India's prolific drag-flicker Gurjit Kaur stepped up to take the execution, but her shot was saved by the Japanese Goalkeeper Megumi Kageyama, but the rebound fell to India's young Forward Lalremsiami, who did not make a mistake in putting the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1 to India.”

The last quarter handed over the victory to India when Indian Goalkeeper Savita saved the goal post from Japan’s score to equalise the match.
