The Indian Women's Roller Derby team made history as they clinched bronze, the country's first-ever medal at the World Skate Games in Italy on September 23. Team India, led by captain Shrutika Sarode, dominated China with a thrilling 127-39 score to claim the milestone. It was the second time at the World Skate Games for both the teams in roller derby. Right from the preliminary games to the final bronze medal match, the teams offered a thrilling showdown that kept viewers at the edge of their seat.

India Vs China In Roller Derby At World Skate Games

The Indian Women's team seemed unstoppable right from the start of the final match, leveraging every defence lapse by the Chinese opponents. The jammers overwhelmed China with their blazing speed, stunning passes, and agility as they recorded points after points.

Team India's formations tackled China's defence with ease, untimately claiming them the well-deserved bronze medal. "We have created history history today as we beat China and won the Bronze medal at the World Skate Games 2024 in Italy," announced Captain Sarode.

In other news, India's debutant Men's Roller Derby team narrowly missed a podium finish as they ended the game in fourth place against China, who took home the Bronze with a score of 75-119. Meanwhile, Team USA won the gold medal in both the men's and women's categories.
