Indian Student Arrested For Raping Woman In UK

 An Indian student, studying in the United Kingdom, has been arrested and sentenced for allegedly carrying an intoxicated and semi-conscious woman at his flat and raping her last year in June.

The student, identified as Preet Vikal from India has been charged with rape charges and has been sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment. CCTV footage showed the accused carrying the woman to his flat to rape her.

The incident happened in June last year when the woman and Preet Vikal had gone to the same club in UK’s Cardiff but with different groups of friends

Reportedly, the woman was intoxicated and got separated from her friends when she stepped out of a club and encountered Vikal. 

The two engaged in conversation and the woman can be seen walking out of the pub with Vikal and leaning heavily on him. CCTV footage also shows him carrying the woman in his arms and later across his shoulders to his flat where he is said to have allegedly raped the woman.

An officer of South Wales Police Cardiff described the woman to be drunk to excess and “plainly hopelessly intoxicated.” 

The woman bravely reported her ordeal to the police who then probed their investigation into the case. The woman also informed in her lodged complaint that Vikal also took her ” trophy photographs” and sent them to his friends. She describes that she was left shaken, in guilt, and unable to sleep ever since the incident.

In accordance with CCTV videos and the victim’s statement with other evidence matching her description, the accused Indian student Preet Vikal has been charged with rape charges and has been sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment. 

Meanwhile, there has been another incident of a 27-year-old Hyderabad student who has been stabbed to death in her residential apartment in Wembley, London. The woman has been identified as Tejaswini Reddy was attacked by a knifeman along with her roommate. Tejaswini succumbed to her injuries while her roommate had no fatal injuries. The police have yet not charged anyone in this case.
