Indian Origin UK Minister Priti Patel Attacked In Racist Video, 2 Accused Held By Court

Priti Patel racist post: Indian origin UK minister faced racism over a video that was posted in January 2021 which now stands ceased and will remain so till the next court hearing of the accused who are currently booked.

The accused, identified as Jake Henderson who is 28-year-old and Robert Cumming, 26-year-old were summoned to court on May 29. The duo will next appear at Mansfield Magistrates' Court in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands region of England, on June 29.

Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS East Midlands Janine Smith reported that the CPS has "authorised Nottinghamshire Police to charge Jake Henderson and Robert Cumming with sending a grossly offensive message by a public communication network".

Smith added, "The function of the CPS is not to decide whether a person is guilty of a criminal offence," however, it is the court's responsibility to make appropriate, autonomous and objective assessments about whether it is appropriate to present charges to the accused.

Moreover, strict announcements are made, charging a restriction on publishing or sharing contents online that could, in any way, jeopardise the defendants' right to a fair trial.

The duo has been charged under Section 127 of the UK's Communications Act.

Priti Patel Racist Post: Who Is She?

Born in London, Priti Sushil Patel was born to an Indian-Ugandan family and completed her education at Keele University and the University of Essex.

She claims herself to be a follower of the Thatcherism ideology, being a right-wing member of the Conservative Party before which she was involved with the Referendum party.

The 49-year-old politician draws her political inspiration from the former conservative leader and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Patel believes, "Thatcher had a unique ability to understand what made people tick, households tick and businesses tick. Managing the economy, balancing the books and making decisions—not purchasing things the country couldn't afford."
