Kaur’s mother, Rashpaul Kaur, revealed that Singh was obsessed with her daughter, and he didn’t seem to let her go even after she turned down his proposal a hundred times. Her mother also shared that during the last few hours on earth, her daughter would have gone through the worst of humanity, knowing that there was no one to rescue her. She added that with her "precious little girl," Jasmeen, gone, she was left heartbroken.
The Guardian reported that the accused, Singh, is now facing a mandatory life sentence, and the court will grant him a non-parole period next month.
