India has secured the fifth place in the highest female billionaires of the world study by City Index. The country boasts 15 billionaire women, with business magnate and politician Savitri Jindal ($20.2 bn) on the top, followed by Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry ($7.5bn), wife of the late Cyrus Mistry. The country with the highest number of billionaire women is the United States, with 97 richest women. French heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers of L'Oréal rules the title of the richest woman in the world with $90.2 billion.
The International Women’s Day 2024 study by City Index showed that the US has 97 billionaire women, over double that of China, which is second on the list with 42 billionaire women. Third on the list is Germany with 22 female billionaires, followed by Italy with 19 female billionaires, and India in fifth place with 15 billionaire women.

The richest woman in India is 83-year-old Savitri Jindal, chairperson emerita of O.P. Jindal Group. Her net worth is over $20 billion. According to the City Index study, the second richest Indian woman is Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry with $7.5bn. With 15 billionaire women in India, the country has made it to the top five of the world's highest number of billionaire women index.
The United States dominated the highest female billionaires list with 80% of the billionaire women with the highest net worth. The richest woman in the US is Alice Walton of Walmart, whose net worth exceeds $70 billion, making her the second richest woman in the world. Though four of the five richest women in the world are from the United States, the first place has been reserved for 70-year-old Bettencout-Meyers of France.
Following the US and China is Germany, with automotive empire heiress Susanne Klatten worth $25.6 billion topping the list. The second richest German woman is Nadia Thiele ($6.8 bn), wife of late billionaire businessman Heinz Hermann Thiele of Knorr-Bremse AG.
The next country is Italy with 19 female billionaires. Heiress Massimiliana Landini Aleotti ($7.3bn) of pharmaceutical giant Menarini tops the list, followed by fashion mogul Miuccia Prada with a net worth of $5.8 billion.
City Index studied the Forbes’ billionaire list to identify the highest-earning billionaires in the world and filtered out only the billionaire women for this study. Data was collected regarding the number of female billionaires from each country and ranked according to the number of female billionaires from that country. The billionaires were also ranked according to their net worth. The data was collected in February 2024 and is accurate as of then.
