The Kia Super League is an English domestic T20 league which is often called as Women’s Cricket Super League. The league kicked off in 2016 with six teams, viz. Lancashire Thunder, Loughborough Lightning, Southern Vipers, Surrey Stars, Western Storm and Yorkshire Diamonds. It was the Southern Vipers in the finals who beat Western Storm to win the tournament. It is organised in England and Wales.
Harmanpreet’s recent successes have made her the centre of attention since last year. Close to 139 international matches old, she became the captain of the Indian T20 National Side in November last year.
And this will not be the first time that Harmanpreet will be playing in a franchise tournament setting. Last year she was signed up by the Sydney Thunder at the Women’s Big Bash League. With Sydney Thunder, she scored 296 runs in 12 matches at an average of 59.20. After such a feat she was honoured with the title of Sydney Thunder's WBBL Player of the Tournament.

Apart from Harmanpreet, Australia’s Rene Farrell and South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp are two other overseas players in the team Surrey Stars. The tournament is set to begin on August 10, 2017 and the six teams will be playing the league format. And in the finals, the top-ranked team will get a direct entry into the final while the second and third-ranked team will fight it out for a spot in the final.
