"I am not a woman, so I don't have bad days," said Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone.
Stone is making a documentary called ‘The Putin Interviews’, which will air later this month. It was while giving Stone a tour of the Kremlin that Putin made the misogynistic statement. He said that his abilities are partly due to the fact that he is a man.
"I am not trying to insult anyone. That's just the nature of things. There are certain natural cycles," he said.
Stone was given permission to meet Putin numerous times between July 2015 and February 2017. The documentary will shed light on the life of one of the world’s most powerful leaders.
The documentary shows Putin feeding horses, playing hockey and strolling around his gardens.
He also speaks about gays. He says, “I can tell you this, that as head of state today, I believe it’s my duty to uphold traditional values and family values. But why? Because same-sex marriages will not produce any children. God has decided, and we have to care about birth rates in our country. We have to reinforce families. But that doesn’t mean that there should be any persecutions against anyone.”
