Engineer Aishwarya Thatikonda, of Indian descent, lived in Saroornagar, Hyderabad, and worked as a project manager for a private company in Dallas, Texas, United States. According to The New York Post, she was one of the nine individuals killed on Saturday when a shooter opened fire on pedestrians walking by a mall.

- The New York Times reported that a shooting was seen at the Allen Premium Outlets, an outdoor shopping complex with more than 120 businesses situated about 25 miles north of Dallas, at around 3:30 p.m. (local time).
- A police officer later shot and killed the attacker, identified as Mauricio Garcia.
- 27-year-old Aishwarya Thatikonda was reportedly shopping with an acquaintance at the Allen Premium Outlets in the northern suburbs of Dallas when the shooter started shooting. Thatikonda resided and worked in McKinney, Texas, while her family was in India, according to the WFAA television station in Texas.
- According to the spokesman, Thatikonda's family intends to transport her body back to India. Thatikonda had been working in Dallas for more than two years, according to her LinkedIn profile.

- At a press conference on Saturday evening, Allen, Texas, police chief Brian E. Harvey asserted that the shooter operated alone. When they heard gunfire, a police officer who was at the mall on another duty at the time of the shooting went towards it and killed the shooter.
- Social media users shared a video of the shooter, who was depicted as being fully clothed in black, lying on the ground while carrying a long rifle, what appeared to be a number of rounds of ammunition and a tactical vest.
- In footage shot at the scene, hundreds of consumers could be seen leaving the area; many of them had their hands raised. At least three bodies were seen outside the mall on the drone footage, according to the New York Times.
