Hyderabad rape case accused dead: A dead body found on the Warangal railway track has sparked speculations that the accused in case of rape and death of a six-year-old girl in Hyderabad is dead. The 30-year-old accused in the Hyderabad rape and murder case had been on the run ever since the incident came to light.
A tattoo on the dead man's hand has led police to believe that it is Raju's body. According to Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar his identity will only be confirmed once test results are back. There is no clarity as of now on how the man died. There was a reward of 10 lakh rupees on offer to anyone who provided information that led to Raju's arrest.
However, the Telangana Director General of Police confirmed the news on Thursday morning with a tweet. "The accused of "Child Sexual Molestation and murder @ Singareni Colony, found dead on the railway track, in the limits of #StationGhanpurPoliceStation. Declared after the verification of identification marks on deceased body."
Hyderabad rape and murder case
On September 9, a six-year-old girl from the Saidabad area of Hyderabad was allegedly raped and killed by her neighbour. The accused had reportedly lured the child to his house by offering her candies. When the girl's parents failed to locate her, they registered police compliant. Upon investigation, her body was found from Raju's house nearby in the evening.
When the police tried to remove the deceased girl's body from the accused's home they faced massive resistance from the local people. When the police promised that the investigation of this case would be completed swiftly, the mob finally let them carry the girl's body away.
The incident not only sparked outrage in Hyderabad and on social media, it also triggered state-level politicians to make problematic statements, demanding an encounter of the accused, as done in the Disha gangrape and murder case from 2019.
Telangana's Labour Minister Malla Reddy said on September 15 that the accused in case of minor’s rape and murder should be encountered. “We will nab the accused and will encounter him. We’ll stand by the victim’s family. We’ll provide aid to the family. We will console them," he added.
A similar remark was passed by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Revanth Reddy, who said that the youth in the area are demanding for the encounter of the accused like in the 2019 gangrape and murder case of a veterinary doctor, known to media as "Disha".
