Hyderabad Rape Accused Dead: A dead body found on the Warangal railway track sparked speculations about the death of the accused in rape case of a six-year-old girl in Hyderabad. After verifying the identification marks on his body, the Telangana Director General of Police confirmed the news of his death. According to the eyewitnesses, the incident took place around 8.40 am when the accused came under Hyderabad-bound Konark Express.

Here are 10 things to know about this.
- Pallakonda Raju, the accused, was a 30-year-old man who had been on the run ever since the incident came to light.
- Earlier, the police was relying on a tattoo on his hand to believe that it was Raju’s body. However, they were waiting for the test results. The police had a reward of 10 lakh rupees to offer to anyone who provided information that led to Raju’s arrest. The body was reportedly identified by the police on the basis of the tattoo ‘Mounika’ on both his hands.
- He was accused of raped and killing her neighbour who was a six-year-old girl. The incident happened on September 9 in the Saidabad area of Hyderabad.
- The accused had reportedly offered candies tot he girl to lure her to his house. The girl's parents registered a police complaint after they failed to locate her.
- She was later found from Raju’s house nearby in the evening. Her body was wrapped in a bedsheet.
- The incident led to massive outrage on social media with netizens including celebrities and activists demanding action against the accused.
- People also took to streets to protest against the heinous crime. They staged sit-in for seven hours on Champapet-Sagar Road. They were demanding immediate punishment to the guilty. Some also went to the extent of demanding the accused to be killed in an encounter.
- Telangana’s Labour Minister Malla Reddy had said on September 15 that the accused should be encountered. “We will nab the accused and will encounter him. We’ll stand by the victim’s family. We’ll provide aid to the family. We will console them,” he said.
- Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar told NDTV that he could have died by suicide.
- There is ambiguity behind the real cause of his death.
- Meanwhile, Women and Child Development Minister Satyavathi Rathod and Home Minister Md Mahamood Ali visited the girl's family on 16 September and gave them an exgratia of Rs 20 lakh.
